The course writes:

• Att kartlägga kunskapsläget/Reviewing Prior Research: Writing A Literature Review: No specific readings.
• Att kartlägga kunskapsläget/Reviewing Prior Research: Writing A Literature Review: The course consists of finding sources in library and databases in order to carry out an independent review of prior research.
• Att kartlägga kunskapsläget/Reviewing Prior Research: Writing A Literature Review: Since your assignment is to review prior research, all sources should of course be scientific, i.e. books, articles in social science journals, and to some extent unpublished papers by central researchers in the field (conference papers, unpublished manuscript, working papers). You might in special cases include government documents if the author is a researcher. Lay periodicals may be integrated to illustrate a debate, but they have to be treated as such, and it has to be clear to the reader that the source is not a scientific one. Conclusions can only be based on scientific sources.
• Att kartlägga kunskapsläget/Reviewing Prior Research: Writing A Literature Review: Most of you will use mainly current sources. However, in special cases, e.g. in a review that concentrates on the historical development of a topic, an earlier period might (also) be interesting. Specify what period(s) you will be reviewing.
